Day 1: Fly to Bahir Dar, boat trip over Lake Tana and drive to Gondar  

Today after breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Bahir Dar up on arrival meet with our representative and transfer to your hotel, after taking a rest start to explore Bahir Dar, is situated on the shores of Lake Tana.  68 km wide and 73 km long, it was formed at least 20 million years ago, by an ancient lava extrusion that effectively functions as natural dam.  
Tana is Ethiopia’s largest lake and is dotted with not less than 30 islands, on many of, which are found churches and monasteries. Today enjoy a boat trip over Lake Tana, is most famous as the home of the monasteries established on some 20 of its 37 islands. Travel by boat to Zeghe Peninsula where you will visit the two churches of Ura Kidane Mihret and Azuwa Mariam which were built in late 13th and 14th century respectively. Ura Kidane Mihret is the most impressive monasteries in Tana; the walls are covered in incredible 16th century murals & Azuwa Mariam, 
oday afternoon drive to the Blue Nile fall some 30km from the town followed by a 20 minute walk after lunch drive to Gondar, it 180 km from Bahir Dar or 3 hrs drive

Attend Timkat festivals (Epiphany-celebrated on 19Jan) visit Gondar

Emperor Fasilidas founded Gondar as his imperial seat in 1636 and the city was both the capital and a great commercial center from 17th to the mid-19th century. Visit the Royal Enclosure or Fasil Gibbi within the compound and also the castles built by the various emperors of Gondar. A 2 km drive from the town center you will bring you to the bath of King Fasilides, where, during at Timkat (Ethiopian Epiphany) a nearby river is diverted to fill an area the size of a small swimming pool.  Worshippers plunge into the cold water in a re-enactment of the baptism of Christ in the River Jordan. 


Continue drive 2 km to the north east of the Royal Enclosure to visit the Debre Berhane Selassie 
church, the only church that was saved from Mahdist invasion in the 1880s. According to legend, a 
swarm of bees routed the invaders. The walls and ceiling of this church are completely covered 
with murals - the angels’ faces on the ceiling have become a common motif in Ethiopian design.

Fly to Lalibela 

At the end of the 12th and beginning of the 13th centuries King Lalibela of the Zaghwe dynasty built a 
series of rock hewn churches in this spot, calling it New Jerusalem.
Today Lalibela is rightly acknowledged as being one of the wonders of the world.  There are 
11churches in the town named after the king. In addition, other rock – hewn churches exist in the 
surrounding country side.  All are still in use today, begin your tour of the first group of churches in 
town and then continue your tour late in the afternoon.
The first group of six churches lies in rock cradles, one behind the other: Bet Golgotha, Bet Mikael,
Bet Mariam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel and Bet Medhane Alem.


​Bet Medhane Alem, the largest, is built like a Greek temple. In a corner are three empty graves symbolically dug for biblical patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?
Bet Giyorgis, possibly the most elegant of all the Lalibela churches, lies somewhat isolated in the southwest part of the village on a sloping rock terrace. It can only be reached throw a tunnel. The group of four, south of the Jordan River, comprise of Bet Emanuel, Bet Mercuiros, Bet Abba Libanos and Bet Gabriel-Rufa'el.
Bet Emanuel's elaborate exterior is much praised by art historians.

Fly to Axum

Today after breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Axum, From around 200 BC to 700 AD, Axum was the seat of an Empire which extended across the Red Sea to Arabia, traded with India and China, had its own alphabet and notational  system, constructed great engineering works and dams and which was reckoned in the 4th century to be one of the four great powers of the ancient world. Today the visitor can see Stella (the largest single pieces of stone erected anywhere – how they were brought from the quarry and erected is still not fully understood), the tombs and castles of kings, Axum Museum and Mariam Tsion Church, built on the site of Ethiopia’s first church. A chapel within the church compound is believed by Ethiopian Orthodox Christians to house the Ark of the Covenant, or the original tablets of Moses.

Fly to Addis Ababa then and city tour of Addis  

Today after breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Addis Ababa, then meet with your driver and transfer to your hotel after taking a rest start to explore Addis Ababa, today you will be taken to National Museum, one of the most important sub-Saharan museums in all of Africa. The museum is home to the fossilized humanoid Lucy as well as an amazing collection of artifacts, royal items and art. Finally visit Merkato which is the largest open market in East Africa. Day 01 Arrival
Upon arrival in Cairo our representative will welcome you and then assist you through passport control
formalities, and luggage claim. Then we will transfer you to your hotel for check in and to freshen up.

Half Day Giza Pyramids Tour:
Upon arrival you make your way to the Giza necropolis to admire the giant Sphinx and three great pyramids and to
see one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. Your expert Egyptologist tour guide will share stories and

Day 03 Wadi Al Natrun – Alexandria Monasteries:

St. Macarious the Great Monastery, St. Bishoy monastery & St. Mina Monastery
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up to enjoy your drive on the Alexandria desert road to vi sit St.
Macarious the Great Monastery. The Monastery was founded in 360 A.D. by St. Macarious the Egyptian,
who was spiritual father to more than four thousand monks of different nationalities. From the fourth
century up to the present day the monastery has been continuously inhabited by monks.
Next to St. Macarious Monastery’s visit you shall stop to visit St. Bishoy monastery at Wadi Al-Natrun.
The Monastery of St. Bishoy bears the name of its patron, one of the monastic fathers of the 4th Century.
In 340 A. D. Saint Bishoy went to Wadi al-Natrun to live in the desert. He made his home on the site of
the present monastery and became a spiritual father to the monks who gathered around him.
And then you shall drive to visit St. Mina (Mar Mina) Monastery. Also known as Saint Menas (285 – c. 309),
the Martyr and Wonder-worker, is one of the most well-known Egyptian saints, due to the many miracles
that are attributed to his intercession and prayers. St. Menas was an Egyptian soldier in the Roman
army martyred because he refused to recant his Christian faith. St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Monastery is
one of the most Beautiful Monasteries in Egypt and It was built by St. Pope Kyrillos the 6th
.

Day 2 Old Cairo Churches, St. Mary’s church at Maadi & Monastery of St. Simon
After breakfast, today we drive to Coptic Cairo home of some of the oldest Christian churches of the
world.
Your are about to visit the churches, where Our LORD Jesus Christ, Virgin Mary and Joseph the
carpenter walked and lived thousands of years ago.
First, we visit the Hanging Church; also known as El Muallaqa that was dedicated to Our Lady Virgin Mary
and it is believed to have been built at the end of the 3rd century. We also visit St. Sergious Church and
the Greek Orthodox church of St. George. At the same area you also visit the famous church of St.
Barbara.
After that, your guide will take you to the Monastery of St. Simon the tanner at Al-Mokkattam Mountain
which was miraculously moved through the faith of St. Simon the tanner during the 10th century A.D.
And then, by the river Nile you shall visit the Church of Virgin Mary at Al-Maadi which is believed to be
one of the other places where the Holy Family stayed at in Cairo before they took a Nile Boat to sail to
the South of Egypt. This is also where you shall see the Holy Bible which was found in 1976 floating on
the Nile water and opened at the page that reads Isaiah’s prophecy:“Blessed be Egypt my people” (Isaiah
19:25).

Day 04 Coptic Cathedral, St. Mary’s Church at Al-Zeitoun, St. Mary & Archangel

Michael Church at Ain Shams, Virgin Mary’s tree at Al-Mattariya

After Breakfast, meet your tour guide at the reception and then drive to visit St. Mark’s Coptic Cathedral at
Al-Abbassia. The cathedral is considered to be the largest Cathedral in Africa and in the Middle East. It is
named after St Mark the Evangelist, an apostle of Our Lord Jesus Christ and founder of the Coptic Church. St.
Mark’s Relics are kept in a small church at the Cathedral.
Then, drive to Al-Zeitoun district where you shall visit St. Mary church where the apparition of Our Lady
Virgin Mary took place in April 2, 1968.
Then, at Ain Shams area you shall stop to visit St. Mary & the Archangel Michael church where you shall see
the miraculous icon of our Lady Virgin Mary which seeps oil.
And then, you shall visit Virgin Mary’s tree at Al-Mattariya district. This is where the Holy Family sheltered
under a tree known nowadays as the “Tree of the Virgin Mary”. In there, Jesus gushed forth a spring of
water from which he drank, and blessed it. The Virgin Mary washed the clothes of the child Jesus and poured
the water on the ground. On that spot a sweet – smelling plant grew. The balsam of the plant is added to all
kinds of perfumes and is also used in making the sacred ointment for baptisms.

Day 5 Departure
Your luggage will be brought down for check out, and as you’ll have an early flight today a breakfast box
will be prepared and it will be available for you at your hotel’s reception. Then your tour guide will
meet you at reception and he’ll transfer you by bus to the Cairo International Airport for your
departure.
